Visa For the Pakistan Cricket
The PCB has expressed its unhappiness to the ICC about the delay in getting visas for the Pakistan cricket team to travel to India for the World Cup. They are worried that this delay might affect Pakistan’s preparations for the tournament. The team is supposed to leave early on Wednesday, but as of Monday evening, they still hadn’t received their visas.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has been talking to the ICC about this issue, but on Monday, less than 48 hours before the team was supposed to leave and with no visas in hand, they wrote to the ICC. In their letter, they said it’s not fair that Pakistan is the only team without visas right now.
The PCB has asked the ICC what they are doing to solve this problem and whether the Indian cricket board (BCCI) or the Indian government have given written guarantees that all teams will get their visas.
Pakistan Cricket Team’s Visa Delays, Preparation Plans Hit
The Pakistan cricket team had a plan to go to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a two-day team bonding camp before coming to India for a big cricket event. Sadly, they had to cancel this plan because they haven’t received their visas for India yet.
Among the nine teams participating in this international tournament in India, it’s reported that Pakistan is the only one still waiting for their visas, according to ESPNCricinfo.
Because of these visa delays, they had to change their plans. Now, they will fly directly from Lahore to Dubai on Wednesday. Then, if they get their visas in time, they will fly to Hyderabad, India.
Before the main tournament begins on October 5, Pakistan has two warm-up matches scheduled – one against New Zealand on September 29 and another against Australia on October 3. These practice matches will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
