Meanwhile, Zaman made a mark in the Champions T20 Cup, scoring 303 runs across 10 games, which included two half-centuries.

According to a report from The Express Tribune, Pakistan, currently sitting third in the ODI Rankings, is keen on bringing back this top-order duo for the tournament. Despite not being included in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)‘s latest players’ central contract list, their impressive domestic performances are likely to earn them a spot in the national squad.

Zaman last played a 50-over game for Pakistan during the ODI World Cup 2023 held in India, where he was in exceptional form, scoring 220 runs in four matches at an average of 73.33. Unfortunately, due to Abdullah Shafique’s preference, he didn’t get ample opportunities to shine in the tournament.On the other hand, the 29-year-old Imam last featured in a white-ball game during the 50-over World Cup, specifically against South Africa.
